Sea Sponge Water Filter
This sea sponge sculpture is molded out of plastic bottle caps collected during my barista job. An animal that filters toxic chemicals out of its ecosystem is ironically fabricated out of the plastic waste that pollutes it.
This image shows how I transformed the sponge to be a functioning water filter. The previously detrimental plastic waste is recycled to have a purpose.
